#Chapter1#Chapter2#Chapter3

It took Liz years to realize that life is more valuable than the expensive clothes and shoes she bought and that just cannot buy her happiness... after crying herself to sleep she started wondering what bought her in such a situation. As a young girl Liz was not at all privileged and wished she was like her friend Beth .They were next door neighbors and best friends since they can both  remember.  Beth had the best clothes, her home was so beautiful and the car her father drove was to die for.

On the other hand Liz's parents were not so rich. The mother was a domestic worker and the father was the main provider of the family until he passed away when Liz was only nine years old. This left Liz's mother as a single parent. However her father was a clever man and from an early age he had invested in for Liz's future education. All she had to do was to make sure that she passes and gets admitted to the collage of her dreams. Suzan who was Liz's pride and joy a devoted mother struggled a lot with raising Liz and her other three siblings. Every cent counts this is what she use to tell Liz and her siblings. Whenever Liz wanted something she firstly had to work hard for it.

On the other hand Beth's life looked perfect on the eyes of a nine year old girl. She had the best toys money can buy and all she ever wanted was on the palm of her hand. She always looked happy and her parents were very happy. Although Liz did not have much she was really happy. She never went to bed without food. Her mother was a hard worker and took time to be with Liz and her siblings. She used to narrate the best stories for us Liz thought…that woman I still admire her even now. Even when things were tough she used to have a smile that said everything will be ok. Liz was a very hard worker at school and her grades were really good.

On the back of her mind she still wondered how it is likes not to live from cent to cent to have what she wanted and not having to worry about money. That in its own made her to work even harder and all she kept on telling herself is that she won't like this anymore. I just don't want to worry about every cent like my mother did. Beth used to say her to her "you know I really wish to be like you guys" she never understood why and never bothered to ask.
